Just outside the city, Historic Hacienda Chichí Suárez is one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Mérida. With its vibrant ochre walls, centuries-old colonial architecture and expansive gardens, it offers an unforgettable setting for couples planning a destination wedding in Mexico.
A Traditional Catholic Ceremony
This celebration began with a traditional Catholic ceremony at the Seminario Menor San Felipe de Jesús, before returning to Hacienda Chichí Suárez for an elegant outdoor reception beneath the trees. Bringing together family and friends from across Mexico and the USA it all wrapped up into a wild and wonderful party.
Editorial Wedding Photography at Hacienda Chichí Suárez
One of my favourite things about photographing weddings at Hacienda Chichí Suárez is the variety of backdrops. From intimate colonial interiors and sunlit courtyards to colourful façades and lush gardens, every part of the venue offers beautiful opportunities for natural, editorial-inspired portraits while still allowing the day to unfold organically.
The textures and the light – I could talk for hours. Hacienda walls age in the most incredible way and look like the most beautifully painted photographer’s backdrop. At Chichí Suárez tree roots even find their way through the stone in the most stunning way. The huge ancient trees contrast with the red walls and characteristic Yucatan Hacienda arches mixing graphic and organic to stunning effect.
