Four generations at a destination wedding
Finest Playa Mujeres sits at the northern tip of the Riviera Maya, just outside Cancún. It’s know for clean, white powdery beaches, and, with still relatively few resorts it has a spacious feel, and none of the Hotel Zone energy found in downtown Cancun. Playa Mujeres resorts feel like little self contained towns, and make great venues for weddings built around family.
Alex and Addison brought four generations to Mexico, from Grandma their son. For a destination wedding it’s rare, and the importance of family set the tone for the wedding weekend.
A Vintage Lace Veil
The most striking wedding detail wasn’t on the table plan or the florals, but the bride’s veil. It had belonged to Alex’s grandmother, passed down through the women of her family, cathedral-length, heavy lace edging and a stunning addition to her contemporary draped corseted mermaid wedding dress.
Kids Run the World
When the bride and groom have a little one of their own you know that it’s going to be a VERY child friendly wedding. And when the brides twin sister has a baby – well apparently what happens is that children are swapped interchangeably between family members all weekend long.
Their son, of course decided he wanted to be involved in the ceremony, was scooped up by auntie and then by mom and dad leaving the ceremony together. Weddings with littles – honestly let them do their thing – roll with it just let it happen – it’s inevitable adorable.
