EDITORIAL inspired BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHY
Cancun, Tulum, Playa del Carmen & Akumal
COUPLES shoots & SOLO sessions
on the BEACH & in the CENOTES

Hi I’m Polly – a British photographer based near Tulum. I work throughout the Riviera Maya, including Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Playa Mujeres, Cozumel and Isla Mujeres. My boudoir work is fashion and fine-art inspired, with a strong focus on natural light. Most sessions take place outdoors, on quiet beaches or in cenotes. I love working with black and white imagery, and often incorporate film photography into my galleries for a touch of analog magic.

My style focuses on form, I love posing bodies to create beautiful shapes. I prefer to rely on posing, light and angles rather than on heavy editing – I want you to look stunning, and unmistakably yourself. I like to lean into the natural and raw feel of the Riviera Maya environment and the textures of sand, sea, palms and stone. I also love movement, balancing intentional, sculptural posing with playful energy and candid moments.

Above all, I prioritize privacy and creating a safe, respectful space. My sessions are relaxed, collaborative, and fun. I’m pretty pragmatic about nudity from years working in fashion, with dancers and models backstage, and living in France where the nipple is free. Nothing feels awkward or weird. I have experience working with humans of all shapes and sizes, comfort levels. All bodies are welcome here, and all deserve to be photographed beautifully.

Couples Boudoir Photography

There are many great reasons to do a couples boudoir session – starting with – you guys are hot – take a damn picture! Whether you want to celebrate an anniversary or milestone birthday, or even just all that work in the gym,  a couples boudoir session is a fun and adventurous way to remember this time in your lives.

A boudoir photoshoot is also a spicy addition to a couples vacation. Many of my clients are taking a trip without their kids, and are intentionally spending time putting energy into their relationship outside family time. Your photos are a great reminder of the experience you shared, and that are a hot couple, even when you’re back home cleaning in yoga pants, covered in cat hair.

The experience itself of doing a couples’ boudoir shoot, wearing very little, or nothing at all in a beautiful location, focusing on your connection with the person you love – is a pretty amazing thing.

Solo Boudoir Photography

I love solo boudoir sessions, it stems from my fashion background, where editorials often revolve around a single subject. When it’s one person in front of my camera, the connection is with me, as opposed to a couples shoot where the energy lives between them. Since solo boudoir sessions are generally with women, as a female photographer I also really enjoy the energy of seeing women feel beautiful, powerful and  and totally themselves right in front of me.

People come to me for solo boudoir for different reasons. Some want a sexy set of images as a gift for their partner. Others choose boudoir as a form of self-expression, empowerment or reclamation images that feel confident, and unapologetically theirs. I also photograph more body based sessions to showcase by yoga, fitness, or dance. Here the emphasis is on strength, lines, and the body someone has worked hard to build.

Whatever the motivation, solo sessions are collaborative, relaxed, and tailored to you.

Boudoir Photography FAQs

Absolutely. Most of the people I photograph have never been in front of a professional camera before. You don’t need to arrive knowing how to pose or move. I’ll guide you throughout the session, giving direction around posture, movement, and positioning, while leaving space for things to unfold naturally.

We work at an unhurried pace, with plenty of check-ins along the way. My role is to help you feel comfortable and supported so you can get into the experience and forget about the camera. When that happens, the images take care of themselves.

Abso-freakin-lutely!

My portfolio on this page is a mix of professional models and people who have never been in front of a camera before. While some photographers get on their high-horse about including models in their portfolio, it’s an important part of my body of work. All these images reflect my experience, and what I genuinely find beautiful and interesting. It’s also a great inspiration for the type of imagery we can create here in the Riviera Maya.

When you see work that resonates with you, it’s not necessarily because the person looks like you, but because you’re drawn to the energy, or aesthetic or something that you might not be able to put into words. That shared reference is what helps us create something together.

Honestly as much or as little as you like. It’s fine to bring more than you’ll use, and don’t forget accessories! A statement necklace or a cool hat are wonderful ways to add elements that make the session yours. Also what you wear does not have to be teeny tiny – think things that get transparent and cling when they are wet. I LOVE to discuss styling too, so I happy to talk through ideas.

Only if you explicitly say yes.
My default is no.

I understand that boudoir images are private, not because of shyness, but because they’re often made for specific eyes only. Your boundaries are always respected, and nothing is ever shared without written permission.

That said, I’m genuinely grateful to clients who choose to allow their images to be shared, whether privately with prospective clients or publicly on my website. It’s how I’m able to show the kind of work I love and connect with others who want to create something similar.

Yes. Every image I deliver is carefully edited.

Editing can mean a lot of things. At a minimum, it includes color, tone, contrast, and overall polish. It can also include light retouching, removing temporary distractions like pimples or marks from clothing. I use multiple editing tools to achieve an editorial finish.

My approach is grounded in getting things right in-camera first. I focus on lighting, angles, and posing that are naturally flattering, because the more an image is reshaped in post-production, the less it feels like you.

I edit with a realistic, human eye. I don’t erase pores, lines, or texture: they’re part of being alive. I will soften them if they become distracting. Stretch marks and scars are always your choice: I can reduce or remove them if you want, but I won’t do so by default.

If you have specific preferences, we talk about them!

Start by sharing your preferred dates and where you’ll be staying. I don’t confirm sessions until those two details are set. In the Riviera Maya, resorts often have photography fees, and not every beach or location is a good fit for boudoir, so it’s important we choose the right setting from the start. If that feels like a lot to figure out over email, I’m always happy to hop on a call and talk it through.

Once the plan is in place, I’ll send an online contract and a secure booking link. A 25% retainer reserves your date—simple, straightforward, and done in a few clicks.
